What to expect on a Sea Magic Cruise ...

Get ready for a fun vacation and dance experience!
Your exciting adventure begins in Barcelona, Spain as you board the NEW 5-star Emerald Princess and set sail for the magificent Mediterranean visiting 10 ports with an overnight in Venice, Italy. You will enjoy gourmet meals, outstanding service, & dancing … plus have many onboard options and shore excursions to consider. The emphasis is on relaxation, fun, dancing, and being with friends!


Our Sea Magic cruise format is very "relaxed" where the days are yours to go ashore and explore the ports of call or simply remain onboard and enjoy the ship. There will be a variety of dance classes presented (such as west coast swing, night club two step, latin, ballroom, etc) at both beginning and intermediate skill levels. Classes are typically scheduled on the days at sea; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The actual dances taught will be decided by those that are sailing on this voyage via the "dance survey". We will have special gatherings, parties, and dances for “our group only” in addition to the general pre-dinner and after-dinner dancing available in the lounges. Our actual group schedule is finalized by the ship closer to sailing and that schedule is subject to change.

Evening dining time choices are Traditional-1st seating (~6pm), Traditional-2nd seating (~8:15pm) or Personal Choice dining (anytime dining). Our group has selected the Traditional-2nd seating if you wish to sit with the group. Dining options are on a first come, first served booking so register early to get your preference. Other dining options available are 24-hr casual dining in the Horizon Court, Cafe Caribe, Vines (wine and seafood bar), Trident Grill by the Pool (burgers, hot dogs, pizza) and 24-hr room service. You may want to try one of the specialty restaurants (an additional fee is charged): Crown Grill (steak & seafood) or Sabatini's (italian).

There are so many activity and entertainment choices available onboard the Emerald Princess. You can dance to one of the live bands, see a variety of shows, relax in a lounge, stroll on the deck, see a movie, read a book or enjoy the many options the ship has to offer. This cruise is not just for dancers ... There is something for everyone!

All cabins have two twin beds (most convert to queen),
TV, bathroom w/shower (tub/shower in mini suites),
hair dryer, thermostat controlled heat/air conditioning,

On the Cruise Registration Form - Your registered name (first & last names) and the name
on your Passport ID must match exactly -- No exceptions ... this is a US Law.

For non-U.S. citizens, please verify with your Consulate any additional
documents that may be required such as a Visa or Alien ID Card (aka: Green Card).

US Citizens in the defense industry and some high-tech industries should verify ability to
travel to the ports on this itinerary.

Air Arrangements
You can make your own air arrangements or purchase round trip airfare along with your cruise from the Cruise Line.

1. Your Own Air
If you are making airline reservations on your own, give yourself plenty of time to get to and from the ship. I recommend arriving a day or so early to allow for any unexpected travel delays that may occur and the time zone change. [Arrive airport - Barcelona, Spain (BCN), depart airport - Venice, Italy (VCE)]. Please don't miss the boat!

Please keep in mind most will be flying from the USA to Europe (an international destination) which typcally requires a 2-hour airport check-in time prior to your departing flight.

2. Princess Air
You can purchase round-trip airfare along with your cruise from the Cruise Line. Travel dates, times and air carrier are selected by the Cruise Line. You may customize your travel dates, however you will incur an air customization fee plus any difference in flight cost.

Ground Transportation from Princess & On Your Own
Motorcoach ground transportation is available from Princess. The Cruise Line buses only operate on the departure and return dates of the cruise ship and within specific hours. Please verify that your flight time is within the Princess Bus operating hours. If not, you will need to arrange for other ground transportation such as a Taxi or Shuttle service. If you are arranging your own airline reservations, you can still purchase the ground transfers from Princess as long as you are traveling on the cruise departure & return dates and within their bus schedule. If you are arriving or departing the Airport on other dates, you will need to make your own ground transportation arrangements.

Princess Ground Transportation Cost: $94 pp round trip. Round trip transfers include: Barcelona airport (BCN) to ship terminal ($39), and Venice ship terminal to Venice (VCE) airport ($55).


Travel Insurance
Princess Travel Care covers a variety of items. This insurance can be purchased anytime from the time of your deposit until final payment. Coverage begins only upon payment and some exclusions apply. I highly recommend this option.

3. Pre/Post-Cruise Hotel Packages (available from Princess)
Princess offers pre and post-cruise hotel packages for one or two nights prior to your cruise departure. These packages include ground transfers from the airport to your hotel on the day of your reservation and transfers from the hotel to the ship on day of embarkation. All pricing is per person/double occupancy (2 people in a room) + tax and are subject to availability.

Tips & Gratuities: (onboard the ship)
A charge of $10 per passenger, per day ($120 total for 12 days) will automatically be added to your Princess shipboard account for gratuities to dining and stateroom personnel. Should you wish to make any adjustments to this charge, you may do so by contacting the Purser's Desk onboard the ship. Envelopes are also available if you prefer to personally deliver the gratuities to dining and stateroom personnel. (subject to change)

Clothing/Dress Code Descriptions
You should dress for cruising the same way you would for a land based resort. Daywear suggestions include casual sportswear, jogging suits, pants, sweaters, windbreaker/jacket both on board and ashore. Keep in mind that the weather at sea can be unpredictable. You may want to bring a hat, jacket and sweater as well as swim suit, shorts, visor and sunglasses.

Evening - The Cruise Line dress code categories refer to the classification of attire requested for that particular evening.
The ship asks that all passengers follow the suggested attire while in the public areas.
1. Casual - pant, slacks, skirts, blouses, sweaters for women; pants, sport shirts/open neck shirts and sweaters for men
2. Formal - cocktail dresses, evening gowns, or dressy pant suit for women; sport jacket & slacks, suit or tuxedo for men

Daytime - During the day there is no specified dress code, however there are some attire restrictions.
Swim suits, cut off T-shirts, halter tops, and torn jeans are not permitted in the main dining rooms.
While swim suits are appropriate attire for the pool and spa areas, coverups are requested for other areas of the ship.

Cancellation Fees from Cruise line:
The following penalty fees will be assessed by the cruise line if you cancel your booking within the dates specified prior to your sailing date.

Cancellation fee imposed by Paradise Travel Service is $100pp
