What to expect at Mountain Magic
This vacation destination dance weekend is geared toward all levels of dancers
in a fun, relaxed setting. Your VIP ticket includes free All-Star Workshops
(WCS, Hustle, NC2, & more), many hours of open dancing in 2 non-smoking
Ballrooms, Early Bird Thursday Dance, Sunday After Party Dance, our traditional
complimentary Friday Welcome Party, and our
Hospitality Suite open Saturday & Sunday mornings (serving an array of
continental breakfast items, coffee, tea, and juice). You may also participate
in an assortment of dance contests or sit back and cheer for your friends as
they compete and strut their very best. (contest entry fees are extra)
There will also be some Special Topic Educational Workshops
Make this an extended dance vacation and plan to come early for our
Thursday Early Bird Dance then stay over and join us for our very fun
Sunday Evening “After-Party” in Montbleu's elegant Opal Lounge.
It’s been said that “this after party is one of
the highlights of the weekend”. In addition to all the options above, the
spectacular Lake Tahoe area offers other options like golf, hiking,
biking and sightseeing plus you can visit the neighboring casinos,
restaurants, shops and shows available. Whatever you select, you
are certain to have a most enjoyable time in this amazing mountain-
resort setting. Lake Tahoe is the perfect getaway for both dancers
& non-dancers alike.
Mountain Magic will again be held at the beautiful MONTBLEU Resort Casino & Spa!
(formerly Caesar's Tahoe). We are
planning a great program which will again include classes tailored specifically to the
beginning dancer as well as intermediate and advanced level dancers. We have
planned some additional happenings for our 12th year. This year's event will begin
again with a Thursday night Early Bird Dance & Lesson from 8pm-12midnight.
and the "West Coast Swing 101" Jack & Jill for the Newcomer Dancer.
As before we have also included some Early Friday Afternoon Workshops, Special Topic
Workshops and the "Triple Challenge Open Jack & Jill". This category is open to all dance levels
and the contestant must dance all three dances (WCS, Hustle & NC2).
There will also be some fun activities in the evening as we have done in the past. Our
"Special Topic Seminars" were very well received last year so we will be
presenting some again this year. You'll have all of these choices plus plenty of open dancing with our
non-smoking Two Ballroom layout.
**Don't forget to plan to arrive early for our Thursday Early Bird Dance and stay over for our Sunday After Party that will be held again this
year in the elegant Opal Lounge beginning at 8pm Sunday evening after the dinner break.

DRIVING
Driving from the Sacramento Area:
Take U.S. Hwy 50 East to South Lake Tahoe. Montbleu is located on Hwy 50
just past the California/Nevada State line on the right side. Enter the main driveway
to reach the Hotel Lobby. Free parking is available.
Driving from the San Francisco Bay Area:
Take Hwy I-80 East to Sacramento, then follow the directions above from Sacramento.
Driving from Southern California
Take Hwy 5 or 99 North to Sacramento, then follow directions above from Sacramento.
Driving from Reno:
Take Hwy 395 South to U.S. Hwy 50 West. Enter the main driveway
for the Hotel Lobby.
Free parking is available.
AIR:
Fly to
Reno/Tahoe Int'l Airport (RNO). Montbleu Resort is 55 miles from the Reno airport.
You can take the South Tahoe Express shuttle or rent a car to go from Reno to the
Montbleu Resort at South Lake Tahoe. Rental cars are available at the airport (reservations recommended).
Alternate Airport - Sacramento, CA: Fly to Sacramento Int'l Airport (SMF).
Montbleu Resort is approx 90
miles from the Sacramento airport. Rental cars are available at the airport (reservations recommended).

A big thank you to all who attended and/or contributed to make the event such a success!
We are still remembering what a fantastic time we had at our 11th Annual Mountain
Magic Dance Convention! [see photos attached] We received so many positive comments
on the event and the new location, Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa. The surveys again
reflected the "fun and friendly" atmosphere which is one of our main goals for Mountain Magic.
We hope that everyone felt welcome and enjoyed themselves in our event's warm and casual
environment.
A special thank you to our "entire" fabulous Staff for doing a superb job. You were great!
